Now here is a special treat, this is a 1972 Arctic Cat Panther snowmobile with a pair of kittie sleds, all in great shape given their age. Not very many Panthers were produced by kawasaki, as few as 50 each with yellow and red plastics, and their design has stood the test of time quite well making it a very nice vintage sled. The 1972 “Boss Cat” is becoming notorious for having an engine that just dies out after running fine for 10-15 minutes but the problem is generally due to a bad stator causing incorrect timing and/or Walbro carburetors. Another possible fix is to add a primer to the fuel line since it’s a long way from tank to 340 or 440 engine. Fixing old snowmobiles yourself is a lot of fun and great experience, there is no better feeling that getting an old sled fixed, repaired and purring like a kitten.
